Energy and Infrastructure: China’s role in Africa’s development

Energy use and management are undoubtedly gaining a lot of attention in the world economy. Recent discovery of oil in African countries like Ghana and Liberia continues to drive discussions on what roles these emerging oil producing countries will play in the energy industry and how best they can use these resources to facilitate infrastructure development.  This panel will discuss the technology, expertise, capital and resilience needed by these new entrants to become strong players in the energy industry. Discussion points will include; the phenomenal growth in the industry, its effects on economic development, and future opportunities in the sector and China’s role in the energy, infrastructure and economic development of Africa.
